This highly anticipated event will mark the beginning of the holiday season in the Golden Isles and will be a spectacular display of locally decorated assortment of Christmas trees and wreaths. With the help of patrons like you, this event will not only serve as a major fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia, but also a valuable part of the holiday season to our community.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia is the second home to more than 1,300 youth in our community each day. With a total membership in excess of 3,600 and six locations in Glynn County, this organization offers the highest level of leadership and direction to children between the
ages of 5 and 18.
In 2006, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia embarked on a capital campaign to address a growing need in the community. The summer of 2009, marked the grand opening of the Elizabeth F. Correll Teen Center and in 2010 alone over 2,100 teens walked through its doors. The Festival of Trees is an event designed to help fund the operating cost of the Elizabeth F. Correll Teen Center.
The 2011 Festival of Trees will include many opportunities for patron and public participation in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia and the Elizabeth F. Correll Teen Center. Scheduled events include a Luncheon at Halyard's Restaurant with Chef Dave Synder demonstrating holiday entertaining tips, a holiday Fire-Side Chat at the Frederica Clubhouse with past PGA President Reg Murphy and local golf pros, the Evening Gala Event at the King & Prince Beach & Golf Resort where guests will mingle among the decorated trees that will be auctioned off, and the Family Winter Carnival where parents can bring their children to enjoy entertainment provided by local school groups and even have a picture with Santa!
